School Work Art Dump

Image
I figured I'd make a second post for all the digital paint class assignments that I'm proud of, so here's a big ol' art dump. I was happy with most of my work from that class but these are my favorites :).

Wolf Walk Cycle and Jump (WIP and Finished Videos)

Here's all the WIPs of my quadrupedal motion assignment - The finished animation is the one at the bottom. I'm happy with the final animation, I wish it could be all coloured, but I didn't have time and I still think it came out real well. PS - I wish blogger would let me watch these videos before posting them cause I don't know if they're in the right order or if they work.

Finished Floursack Animation

~ My Finished Flour Sack Animation ~ I'm hoping this loads better than the videos in my last post did The capture is really dark cause I was in a dark room, but there are so many drawings that I don't really have time to re-capture them at the moment. The animation is 15 seconds long and about 378 frames (not drawings), so it was a lot of work but I'm very happy with how it turned out. there are definitely a few things I would tweak but overall I think I did the most with the time I had. I finished capturing this at the school at like,, 9:30 or something? I pretty much crashed the moment I got home. Haha, I had no idea animating could be so exhausting, but, as I keep saying, it was worth it.

Just some animations

Some animations I did in class that I'm proud of. Bouncing Ball Water FX   Morph Head Turn (With Smear) Ball With Tail

Todd Ramsay

The other week we had a class presenter named Todd Ramsay from Yeti Creative and it was pretty damn cool. I have to admit that I cant remember it all that well, but I do remember it was an enlightening experience, and I took away some thoughts that really stuck with me. The first thing I remember about the presentation was the story of how Todd adjusted to using his left hand to draw when he couldn't use his dominant one. Though I guess his left hand was technically his dominant hand, but he was raised using his right hand to write and draw so I imagine it was still pretty difficult to switch over to the other hand. I also think the art and animations he showed us were really neat, especially so knowing he drew all that while learning to use his other hand.  I also learned from the presentation how tough it used to be for animators to find jobs, and how I've got it easier now days. I'm glad the chances of me getting a job right out of college are higher than they would be ...

Introduction

My name's Falisha Kohn and this is where I'm gonna post art, animations, and maybe thoughts if I remember. I know I said this intro stuff in my lil profile thing, but an introduction post just doesn't seem right without all this. I'm a 2D animator and illustrator studying at CATO in Kelowna, and I'm making this blog for a class. Although this is technically homework, I'm gonna try to post my artwork and homework here consistently cause it'll probably be a good habit. Most of my posts will likely be WIP animations, finished animations, and digital paint homework. I hope this blog will showcase my growth as an artist and an animator over the course of my post secondary experience.  I don't know what else to write and I'm tired, so I guess this is it for now. Thanks for reading.
